ROCHESTER, NY, February 3, 2015 — The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) announced today that Houghton College senior Josh Bailey will serve as an intern for their 2015 summer lacrosse program. The internship, which will take place from June 1st to July 31st, will include coaching, leading team devotions, and fund-raising.

Sean McNamara, FCA’s Vice President of Field Ministry for the Northeast Region, believes Bailey’s hard work and dedication will make him a strong asset to the summer program. “Josh’s deep faith in Christ, and love for the players that he demonstrated this past year as a coach, is what caused me to pursue him as an intern.  We are still looking for other interns, as we believe this position is critical to growing future staff for FCA in the Northeast Region,” McNamara said.

Bailey views the internship as a great opportunity to continue in the work he began last year as a ministry leader for FCA where he worked under Coach Joey Wilmot. “This is a chance to work with a great group of people where the leadership has developed a very organized program.” Bailey said.

Serving in a leadership capacity in programs for youth is not new to Bailey. A native of Millerton, PA, Bailey has coached youth soccer and basketball and served as a summer camp counselor during his years at Williamson High School. Throughout his college years, he has served as a leader for Houghton College’s Highlander Wilderness Adventure, where participants are challenged physically, socially and spiritually for two weeks in the Adirondack wilderness.

Bailey will graduate from Houghton College in May where he is pursuing a degree in physical education and has played lacrosse for the past three years. Following his FCA summer internship, he plans to complete his student teaching this fall, and then seek a position teaching physical education in Western New York.
