FCA Expands Lacrosse Camp Offerings for Summer 2015 Season
ROCHESTER, NY — April 23, 2015 — The Northeast Fellowship of Christian Athletes has added two new lacrosse camps to entice both new and seasoned lacrosse players to develop their games this summer. All of the programs are for boys graduating between 2016-2024 and will be held at Roberts Wesleyan College.
The first camp offering of the summer, Backyard Lacrosse, will take place June 29 – July 16, 2015. This new program provides an opportunity for players of all levels to hone their skills and make new friends in a fun, backyard atmosphere. Intentionally limited to 40 players per session, it will be led by Joey Wilmot, Houghton College’s Head Lacrosse Coach. Each participant will receive (6) – 2 hour sessions of great lacrosse at Roberts Wesleyan College.
The Instructional Lacrosse Camp, which has developed the reputation for being one of the best programs on the East Coast, includes instruction in the fundamentals of the game of lacrosse. This camp program is in its fifth year at Roberts Wesleyan College and will be held July 28-30, 2015. MLL Champion and two-time All-American Solomon Bliss will serve as Camp Director and be joined by several other FCA coaches, including Zac Bednarz (RIT), Dan James (Mercyhurst), Greg Scott (Keuka) and Joey Wilmot (Eastern University). This camp will offer intense instruction, gear, and chances to take home quality equipment and apparel each day. There will also be various speakers who will present messages geared at encouraging the campers’ spiritual growth.
For those advanced players who are committed to the game of lacrosse and want to learn from the very best, there is an additional new camp – the Offense/Defense Camp, August 11-13, 2015. Star MLL midfielder Jeremy Sieverts and Sol Bliss will help take lacrosse players to the next level of play at this camp. Sieverts will oversee the offense instruction, while Bliss will be in charge of the defensive coaching. Space for this camp is limited to 40 campers.
