FCA Northeast Fall 2015/Summer 2016 Tryouts

Rochester, NY – July 21, 2015 – Solomon Bliss is excited to announce tryout dates for Northeast FCA Lacrosse as he heads into his new role as FCA’s Northeast Lacrosse Director.  Bliss was a two time captain and All-American defenseman at Syracuse University.  He won two National Championships while at SU (2000, 2002) and went on to play 10 years of professional lacrosse for the Rochester Rattlers and the Hamilton Nationals, winning an MLL Championship with the Rattlers in 2008!  After retiring from the MLL, Bliss joined legendary coach, Dave Huntley, as the Defensive Coordinator of the Hamilton Nationals. For the past 10 years, Solomon has been a head varsity lacrosse coach in the Syracuse area.  Bliss looks forward to bringing his knowledge and expertise to the FCA program.

Northeast FCA Lacrosse teams are comprised of players from the entire Northeast region and will compete in some of the top tournaments in the country.

“We’re looking to achieve a very high level of lacrosse,” High School team coach Greg Scott says. “When the FCA teams are on the field, they are very competitive. They play hard. They lead by example. They show character. That attitude is the same for the players, the coaches, and the directors. It’s a very cohesive group. When coaches hear that a recruit is an FCA kid, their eyes light up because they know that kid is going to have good character and he’s going to work hard,” Scott says.

This attitude has led to very successful teams on the field this summer. This past year respective FCA teams have won their division at tournaments including: FLG in 3D, Irondequoit Invitational, United Capital Clash, and United Summer Clash.

Tryouts will take place at McQuaid Jesuit High School on Saturday, August 15, 2015 and call backs will be Sunday August 16, 2015 for the Classes of 2016-2025.
