FCA Ramps Up Efforts on Player Recruiting and NCAA Placement

Each year, FCA Upstate Lacrosse continues to place kids into the right colleges where they have achieved success. More than ever this summer, FCA is able to allocate more focus and effort into assisting their players and their parents in the process of deciding where they want to attend college.

One of the factors for FCA’s success in recruiting is the high level of tournaments. Some of the showcase events that FCA’s players receive invitations to be a part of include: Blue Chip 225, Elite 100, Jake Reed Invitational, 3d Blue Chip, Adrenaline Blackcard, FLG Legit 120, and the Under Armour All-American Games.

Another contributor to the growth of FCA’s recruiting process has been the high caliber of FCA’s coaches who not only prepare the players for high-level tournaments and their next level of play but who are also diligent in utilizing their networks to make connections and introductions for the players.

Where are our players committing? Where do our alumni play?

“As a program, we stay up-to-date on the recruiting process and as the process continues to change, we continue to stay abreast of current trends and protocol. It’s something that we continue to focus on as we support the parents and the kids through the process,” said boys program director Solomon Bliss who recommends players for showcases, events and contacts college coaches on behalf of the players. Bliss also helps talk the parents through the recruiting process steps to help find the best fit for their son.

All Recruited Years FCA players also receive a Sports Recruits membership that helps connect them with college coaches and organize their recruiting process through webinars and training sessions. Another building block in the ever-strengthening recruiting process: those FCA players who get placed into colleges and experience success who often return to the FCA program. “When they return to coach and ‘give back’ to the program, we only get stronger,” Bliss said.
