Billy Curtis
Assistant Coach – Box Lacrosse

Meet Bill Curtis. Since 1996 Bill has coached and directed more than 100 Lacrosse camps around the world. Bill’s time on the field as a player and a coach showcases how much the game of lacrosse and sports has had and is continuing to impact his life.
Bill played Lacrosse for Skaneateles H.S. NY, Rogers Williams University, the Boston Blazers (NLL), Team Toyota, and North-South All Star. Bill would say his biggest accomplishment in Lacrosse was playing for the USA World team in the indoor championship and the success he had at those game.
After graduating college from Rogers Williams University with a degree in Construction Science | Engineering, he went on to coach in London for the England Developmental program. His coaching resume would continue to expand as he coached at Cardinal Gibbons H.S. MD, Loyola University. MD, Calvert Hall H.S. MD, McDonough MD, and the Sweden National Team. Bill played an integral part in helping launch Sweden, Finland, and the Czech Republic’s Box Lacrosse invitational.
In 1996 Bill started Rebel Lacrosse Wear, a company that creates custom lacrosse gear. His business has allowed for him to travel globally and to build relationships. One of those relationships was with FCA’s Northeast Regional VP, Sean McNamara. Bill met Sean some 20 plus years ago, when he began doing some uniform work for FCA.
“When it came to FCA and the culture behind it; It was a very relaxed environment, a very different perspective. It was attractive and forward thinking and I wanted to support that.”
“What is intriguing and gets me excited to be a part of FCA is ‘The Big Picture’, as a coach it’s easy to get caught up on the competitive game side of things. What’s important are the values behind it. It allows you to take a step back and ask what the life lessons are, what they are going to take away from the sport that is being played”.
Bill and his wife Rachel currently reside in Skaneateles NY. Their three children Owen, Nora, and Lily play lacrosse and hockey. They attend church at Grace Chapel.
“Having 3 kids in sports, it comes down to what sports can do for me and my children. They have opportunities that were not around when I was growing up. They are not just playing sports to play sports. They have the opportunity to play for God.
Bill is currently the National Team Sales Director of Rebel Lacrosse Wear and On the Edge Hockey, custom hockey gear that he started in 2016. He also substitute teaches at Skaneateles high school and middle school as well as coaches voluntarily for FCA. He started a FCA huddle group last year at his local YMCA. There are currently no huddles in the schools at this point but with his direction, experience, and faith he foresees something down the road.
“We are doing a good thing – The perspective of sports is changing,”
