After completing his work at Mercyhurst, James went on to earn his MBA at Missouri Baptist University and begin his career as a financial planner and investment advisor. With his athletic experience, he also began coaching lacrosse. James coached two years at the college level and spent six years as a high school varsity assistant before taking his current position as the varsity head coach at McQuaid Jesuit in Rochester, N.Y.

James grew up going to church with his family and began to take his faith seriously as a senior in high school. His first encounter with FCA was in college through the FCA Lacrosse Ministry, which hosted a dinner for the Mercyhurst team while they were competing in Hunt Valley, Md. James reconnected with FCA as a coach at the encouragement of several McQuaid Jesuit parents and has been coaching FCA teams since 2008.

James and his wife, Tamra, live in Fairport, N.Y., where they enjoy spending time with family and friends. He remains active in lacrosse as well as golf and ice hockey and likes to travel. His hope is to build relationships through FCA and share his love for Christ.
