A native of Tully, NY, Solomon Bliss played football, basketball and lacrosse at Tully High School.  At Syracuse University, Solomon played lacrosse all four years where he captained the Orangemen in his final two years and was also a two-time All-American.   Solomon has played professional lacrosse for the past ten years — for the Rochester Rattlers from 2003-2008, and the Hamilton Nationals from 2009-2013.

From 2004-2012, Solomon coached football, basketball and lacrosse at Tully High, and continues to coach all three sports at Onondaga High School today.

Solomon became involved with FCA in the summer of 2013 when he served as a counselor at a Rochester-based day camp.  He was impressed with what FCA stands for and how the program looks at the role of athletics in a young athlete’s life.

As an FCA coach, Solomon looks forward to having a larger role in FCA.  He desires to gain a strong faith-based relationship with the players, parents and coaches and give back to the athletic world that has done so much for him.

“I have been a Born Again Christian since 2002 and I want to be a positive witness and leader, honoring God and sharing His love with anyone I can.  My hope is that God can bless these young children through the talents and skill set that He has blessed me with.”

A high school teacher and coach since 2003, Solomon and his wife Gretchen reside in Jamesville, NY, with their children Maggie and Jack. He enjoys hunting, fishing and anything active.
